BruinCard displays your name, identification number,  and a digitized image. It also indicates your cardholder status, such as faculty, staff, or student. There are others, but these are the most frequently assigned identifiers. Your BruinCard should be presented whenever you are required to provide proof of your UCLA status.

Easy Pay Debit Card

Funds deposited to your BruinCard account may be used to make purchases at the UCLA Store, campus-wide restaurants and bookstores, Puzzles Eatery, residence hall cafeterias, the Information Technology Center and other pending locations, both on and off campus. There are no service fees for the use of BruinCard.

Big Blue Bus Pass

The BruinCard serves a free Big Blue Bus pass for all Faculty, Staff, and Students.

Building Access Control Card

The BruinCard serves as a room and building Access Control card for several locations on campus including Residence Hall, Library, Laboratory, and General Offices.

Recreation Center Card

If you wish to use the services of any Recreation Center facility, you must present your BruinCard. You will be granted access after your card has been swiped to validate your status. If you are a student and your registration fees are not paid, or you have "holds" on your records, you may be denied privileges.

Library Card

You must present your BruinCard at the Library for visual proof of status to activate your Library privileges. Your identification number will be added to their system (Orion) and thereafter, your BruinCard is your library card too.

Employee Time Entry Card

Several departments on campus use the BruinCard to track and report employee time.

Student Registration Card

When your registration fees are fully paid, you become eligible for various UCLA privileges. Departments requiring proof of fee payment to provide access or services will swipe your BruinCard to validate your registration/paid status.

Student Ticket Discount Card

Students whose registration fees are fully paid are eligible for discounts for tickets for certain athletic and entertainment events. Your ticket purchases for these events will be discounted when your BruinCard is swiped to validate your status at the Central Ticket Office. In the future you will also be able to use your Easy Pay debit account to pay for your tickets.

Student Voting Identification Card

Students are encouraged to participate in student government elections. You can establish your eligibility to vote by presenting your BruinCard at one of the many polling sites around campus.
